Bali Day 3
Posted by blurcheryl in Holidays, Indonesia, Uncategorized on August 26, 2012
The next morning before the start of the day, breakfast prepared by the Villa staff. They bring our food chosen from the menu they provided during check in and we have breakfast at our own kitchen
My breakfast, I chose egg benedict, the hollandaise sauce was total failure, its melted butter and I felt dizzy eating my breakfast the amount of oil make me sick. The muesli was perfect and I enjoy eating that at least.
Here’s my bag, came with one and go back with heavily stuffed luggage and several for handcarry haha.
We went to The Coffee House in Seminyak for good cup of coffee (Tripadvisor recommendation). To tell you the truth, its not up to our expectation the coffee drinks just so so, the cake is just normal nothing to rave about here really.
We celebrated Anna’s birthday here a belated one with candle on creme brulee.
After the coffee session, we just walk off along the road in Seminyak, lots of great shops there and I bought this amazing household item for my new home before going for lunch. We were still full, but we figure we must eat something before heading to the next destination – Tanah lot.
Too much rice, so I ordered mee sup this time, its delicious! After lunch we ask the waiter to call our driver’s mobile to pick us up at the restaurant. When Pak Ade saw us emerge from the restaurant parking, boy he was smilling. I guess he might have thought there girls never stop eating! We just had our breakfast at 11AM before heading to the Coffee House at 12.30PM and then at Warung Made at slightly before 2PM.
Next we head to Tanah Lot but on the way we wanted to go for famous gelato place along the way. .. Food again??? Hahaha I really wanted to go but we couldn’t find the shop so its just Tanah Lot.
So happen, Jynn decided to play golf with the umbrella with Jo-Insta tagging along to capture the moment.
I just want to post this photo here, reminder of how both of this 2 pretty ladies walk.
Before leaving to the airport, here we are at Kuta beach having dinner Burger King with Beer and Wine.
Here’s another group photo! Such a wonderful trip with the girls and we learn so much of each other through this trip too hehe
Bye Bali and next time.. I’ll head to Ayana Resort to stay ( I wish).

Bali Day 2 – Continue
Posted by blurcheryl in Holidays, Indonesia, Uncategorized on August 20, 2012
After Shopping @ Sukawati, we head to Seminyak the next tourist destination where we are going to spend the night.
First of all, welcome drinks.. diabetic drink btw, its so damn sweet.
Outdoor open kitchen with enough sunshine, I like the idea – relax atmosphere
Bathtub that we did not use at all except I force Jo to take a photo there wahahahaha
Comfortable bed, you can get into the pool from the bedroom. Nice and modern design except for the bathroom which I think the designer’s design it to look good but dysfunctional in a way.
The stay at the Villa comes with Free WIFI and they gave us a mobile with ‘I forgot How Much Credit’ for us to call our driver! Goos service btw!
After check in, we head to Ayana Resort Bali as we want to ‘Kaya’ at Rock Bar to watch Sunset, have a drink and look for Rich Bachelor. However when we reach the bar, the queue was long, the staff told us we have to wait at least an hour for our turn
so we decided to skip it (we’ll come back next time) and we head on to explore the resort, watch sunset from its beautiful pad of green grass and took lots of good ‘Bollywood’ photos with us rolling and lying on the beautiful grass.
We spend an hour here just taking photos. .. and doing crazy and kinky post.
This photo is -Jovain.
This place is so romantic!! I’d like to make babies here wahahahhahaha
After that we head to Jimbaran for Seafood. .. the usual tourist spot for sunset and chokingly expensive seafood meal, the dinner cost us Rp 1 Million
After dinner, we told Pak Ade to bring us for dessert and he didn’t know where to bring us. So we brainstorm a bit and told him we saw a Cold Stone Icecream at the Seminyak McDonald and brief description and there we are!
Finish the night with dessert before heading back to the Villa for a swim, which Jynn save me from cold water drowning hahaha Thanks Jynnnoporn! A new name for you again sorry babe.

Bali Ubud Day 1
Posted by blurcheryl in Holidays, Indonesia on August 13, 2012
Its a Sunday and we just arrive Saturday midnight, I woke up early to have a cup of coffee before everyone wakes up. At about 8AM Jynn went to open the wooden maindoor (Sorry Jynn if he saw your nen nen) and the roomboy was already waiting for us. He came in to clean the tables and prepare our breakfast while we shower and get ready for the day.
We asked the driver to pick us up @ 9.30AM , and the room boy led him to the villa coz we’re obviously not ready. We were having toast bread, assorted tropical fruits and hot drinks.
Jo talking on the phone, stressed look. In a way I am happy I did not activate my cell roaming and I just utilise the internet to make free calls to Hubby. No disturbance from Office is what I need really.
After stomach full we walk about 200 meters from the villa to where the car is parked.
We asked our driver Pak Ade to bring us straight to Tegalalang, enjoying the breathtaking scenery of the rice terrace at the hillside warung with diabetic cappucino, its overly sweetened.
Our first Group photo!! So colourful.
We are all wearing the same short pants bought at One Utama Padini coz AhJoJo says we must wear something colourful so its pink, yellow and white. Anna now stay in Penang, so we bought one for her and she only got to know about the shorts in Bali. The tag price removed but the plastic string still on
wahahahha
We went to the coffee plantation and tried the Kopi Luwak and Kopi Jantan.
Then we head on to Kintamani for the volcano and Lake Batur scenery- it was hot and sunny, my ICI paint instantly melted.
We were hungry and quickly go back to the parking but Pak Ade dont know no where to be found, so we just stand there and take photo, the 2 behind so fake lor..
Our lunch in less than 2 hours after Breakfast and Tea Breaks. I missed this so much, its Babi Guling at Ibu Oka. I wish I know how to make this at home.
After lunch we stroll along the streets at Ubud central, found this amazingly beautiful temple behind Starbucks.
After that we head back to the Villa to swim before going out for dinner. You see The Insta -Queen want to photobomb me.
Where else to go for Dinner? Definitely Dirty Duck at Bebek Bengil!!!
Anyone can share me the recipe on how to make this pickled chilli, pls pls pls pls pls pls!! I like it so much!
I ordered Nasi Campur for myself instead of Dirty Duck.
As usual when the food arrive, not take turns to eat but to snap photos! Jo look so excited and happy by just looking at the food
The BBQ Pork Ribs is a must. I had the same the last time I am in Bali hehehehehehe highly recommended but with four of us, we cant finish it still. I wonder how Hubby and I manage to few years back.
Look.. so juicy. The meat falls off the bone so easily.
We hang out at the restaurant until the restaurant want to close dy – but we continue having drinks back at the villa and watching Olympic before call it a day.

Our Stay in Ubud, Bali – Heliconia Villa
Posted by blurcheryl in Holidays, Indonesia on August 10, 2012
Want to know where we stay in Ubud Bali? We made the bookings through privateubudvillas .
We paid Rp1,350,0000 per night for 3 bedroom Heliconia Villa which can accommodate up to 6 pax, with 2 meters deep pool an open kitchen and living room. Comes with mosquitos, grasshopper, frog, ants, cable TV, Free WIFI, free flow drinking water from the water dispenser and daily tropical breakfast of assorted fruit and toast.
They provide cute room boy, clean linen and towels except toiletries, pls bring your own. For the Adventure, you get Dogs howling at 2.30AM follow by strange undescribeable sound (according to AhJoJo).
Alright.. that freak me out the next day when she ask me if I hear anything coz I slept alone in the room like a baby the night before, not on the 2nd night though I was anticipating for strange sound .. lucky I didnt hear anything but that’s enough to make me awake until 2.30AM for another round of Dogs howling. I only manage to catch some sleep after that, fml.
Anyway I didnt experience any goosebumps nor do I feel like the place is haunted, nor did my hair stands up like I am frightened. The Villa was beautiful, comfortable and spacious ~ we feel right at home. Its clean too!! Very important
This is the view of the villa during the day.
The view from my room overlooking the pool.
The rest of the room/ toilet photos you can search from the web, its all there.
TweetKuantan
Posted by blurcheryl in Cuti Cuti Malaysia, Holidays, Uncategorized on August 8, 2012
The first time I celebrated Chinese New Year here I have somewhat culture shock, because I never eaten Malay food for a whole week nor will I be eating Mc Donald during festive season my entire life.
That feeling of bored has left me today whenever I step foot again in this town of Kuantan. For some reason I’ve grown fond of Hubby’s hometown in Kuantan.
Maybe its the people that kept me company, Family members that I have grown closer to
The food that I have started to miss and enjoyed
The streets that never gets busy and got stuck by traffic
The Beach that is close by
The chance to relax, to do nothing to Sleep and Eat and Sleep and Eat
The chance to worry not about what’s to eat or cook
The opportunity to visit sun bear at the zoo and a walk at the Garden anytime
The touristy feeling that never left
Wallie, the house pet dog the apple of the family’s eye
Life is just laidback, no traffic jam, probably have to evolve abit around nieces who need to go to tuition and school activities, everythings is a breeze and I can just sit in the living room or just relax in the room, do nothing as my SIL and BIL hospitality was excellent (Thank you very much) and not worried about food as food is always abundant at home. I have to describe as abundance coz I can never starve here BIL will prepare food to eat at home or eat at restaurant, Hubby keep going out buying his favourite East Coast snack like keropok lekor, samosa, curry puff, cucur udang and many more. Even with all this snack in his stomach he will ask to go for ABC or Ice Kacang and near to dinner there are a couple of restaurants that I really like to go like Restaurant Mido in Balok, Shark Meat restaurant, Sherwood for western and more.
Other thing that I look forward to:
Going back to Kuantan for Durian has already been a tradition to me and Hubby will agree to let me eat as much as I like. Bliss!!
Big house, Big land in Kuantan, always past by this Dalmation house the owner keep several dogs here not sure if they breed dogs but their dogs got a big land to run and look happy.
East Coast food Nasi Kerabu (blue rice). I dont fancy much of Nasi Dagang as I find the fishy sauce too fishy for me, but Nasi Kerabu was my favourite it taste like Rice Salad so complex and with different texture, I love it very much.
Before heading back to KL from Kuantan usually I look forward to dinner at Bukit Tinggi and buy some salad or fresh vegetables and I miss that too.
When will we be going back to Kuantan again to relax? I wonder and I hope it wont be long, probably before the kickoff ceremony of our house renovation.

Client Appreciation Night- One World
Posted by blurcheryl in Celebrations, Cocktail & Alcohol, Cuti Cuti Malaysia, Drinks on July 16, 2012
Hello there.. I am suppose to blog about this weeks ago, I had such a good time at the Client Appreciation Cocktail hosted by One World hotel and I am no longer their customer actually. Probably still a potential as I contacted them right after the party for an appointment but still I have not the chance to visit them after my MIL funeral and away for a week and came back to office to clear all pending work.
Before the party starts, non-stop serving of canapes and cocktail drinks for invited guests.
The party Theme ask for creative.. I guess it means Phantom?
Plenty of food served with generous servings and choices. I love the peking duck.. it taste so good!
Dumplings in double boiled soup, very tasty (got scallop too!!!)
Performance by Dennis Lau, Shawn Lee and also Shafinaz Selamat with her lovely ballad song Mahkota.
After their performances, I went to the toilet and saw them, so I asked for a photo together. (Muka tebal I know wahahahha)
To my surprise the doorgift was better than what I expect, thought they give you pen or something that I will just give it away, coz I dont like to keep things that I dont need/ use.
Super long size pillow, its custom made pillow case embroidered (see photo)
The size of the pillow. I’ll keep this for my new house hehehe
Habis cerita, terima kasih
TweetBest Hainanese Chicken Rice in Kuantan, Nasi Ayam Hotel New Capitol
Posted by blurcheryl in Cuti Cuti Malaysia, Family & Friends, Holidays on July 2, 2012
Good Lord!! For some reason, I shall not mention any name but the culprit should know himself that it is his responsibility to show me good food back in Kuantan and it is his responsibility to taking care of my tummy for my whole life.
Can you believe that I missed out having really good chicken rice in this part of the Kuantan town like ‘literally’ forever until just recently? Restoran Capital now known as Nasi Ayam Hotel New Capitol was rated the best Chicken Rice in Kuantan and I didn’t even know that. Booooooo.. Booooooo to the culprit and I shall not name who
The Hainanese Chicken Rice restauran has evolutionized as a fast food as well because as we enter the restaurant and before we have the chance to warm our chair the workers served each of us plates of fragrant chicken rice, sauce, chillies, cutleries.
The next thing that follows is to answer their questions. “How many portion?” “What chicken?”
Here’s a pic of chicken rice, please act ‘delighted’ as if you never seen a plate of rice before.
I always like the authentic white chicken hainanese style because its juicy, tender and soft.
Also not to be missed roasted chicken, the seasonings of oil and soy sauce brings out the flavour of the chicken and it is not dry / tough at all. Its really good!!
I love to eat chicken innards but not the culprit, the one who I shall not name.
Food that we ordered.
The interior of the restaurant, looks like dining in the 70s.
This restaurant is located in Kuantan town itself, address I dont know. Sorry
Hakka Lui Char @ Soon Lee Kopitiam, PJ Old Town
Posted by blurcheryl in Cuti Cuti Malaysia, Holidays on May 31, 2012
This is a newspaper article I read last year about Hakka Lui Char. I am so eager to try it out then but haven’t got the time to go, I showed it to hubby and he immediately recognise the Kopitiam and said he know where it is, not even a look at the address. So ‘geng’ wan!!!
Last Saturday, due to need to bring my papa to go for his eye check up, we go to Soon Lee Coffee Shop for breakfast and to try out the recommended good Hakka Lui Char in PJ Old Town, my childhood town after school. I always come here every Sat after school and take bus home. Lots of good and silly memories here.
I rejoice by the fact that its another day down memory lane having breakfast in this fast paced Kopitiam that never lost its rustic old charm over development and commercialisation of the Petaling Jaya. Although PJ Old Town is completed outdated compared to the growth surrounding the PJ Area however it is still a very busy town. You can hardly find a parking here and most of the time cars were parked in front of somebody’s home at the old housing areas.
PJ Old town also offers varieties of household items at surprisingly good price till today. If you think 500 Yen shop is cheap, PJ Old Town shops can beat that price anytime!
Back to the Hakka Ho Poh Lui Char, the seller is not even ready when we got there and I was told the uncle will only start selling at 10AM so we waited until its open and quickly ordered.
I absolutely like eating Lui Char and I find that this is the one and only healthiest food served by Hakka folks. Usually Hakka dishes consist of very strong flavour food and also very fatty, fat meat especially.
The way of eating Hakka Hor Poh Lui Char is mixing everything in the Char the green soup. The way I like it is the opposite. I add the Char gradually into the bowl of rice with all the ingredients, drinking the soup and eating it like riced porridge at the same time. Very yummy and healthy food if you can accept the greenish soup.
Usually I cannot finish the green soup as the peppermint taste was too strong. This time, I like the green soup serve by this stall as it has peppermint taste that is not too overpowering. Thumbs up for the soup is smooth and appetizing, it is served warm without loosing its green colour.
A good taste of Lui Char Tea made from a variety of ingredients like peanut, white sesame seeds, mint leaves, sweet basil leaves, sweet potato leaves, chinese green tea leaves and peppercorns should blend well in its flavour and complement each other. (Some seller does not make a good Char soup and it taste like raw leaves. Yuck! )
Indeed a good meal today!!
