Perfect Livin 2012: I am today’s highest Bidder
Posted by blurcheryl in Decorations, Home Improvement on April 8, 2012
Thats ME!
Today’s and up until this moment when I am writing this, I am the Current Highest Bidder for the Signature Kitchen that worth RM28000, a complete modern kitchen, with Kitchen Island and Marble top and inclusive of all appliances. I did not put a photo of the Kitchen here of course, I dont want any of you out-bid me eventhough its for Charity!!
I went to Perfect Livin on Thursday and the first thing I did was to register for the lucky draw. Aiyoh not lucky enough cannot get the 50 inch Panasonic Plasma TV!! @$#%#& . Nevermind lah, I still got 4 pcs of small Tupperware doorgift as consolation, for the first 500 visitors.
Spend 3-4 hours alone at Hall 1 & 2 each and found a good deal for a Bosch Oven. I so Kiasu I quickly put a deposit for it. Never thought I’ll find any Bosch appliances at such a good bargain or I simply choose to believe what the Bosch principal said
Was so hungry, we went to the Hall of Elegance to chill out. Its already late noon, so we had dessert and hot coffee.
Today (Sat) we went to the exhibition again to lock a few more deals. We never look at soft furnishing yet as those will be the least of our interest not until the renovation is completed. Again, we went to the Hall of Elegance to chill out throught-out the day, we were there again from 10AM till 8.30PM same on Thursday. Really crazy, like we work there like dat but we enjoy it nevertheless with good company and beer on draught! (P/S: Thank you Thank you)
One of the most important thing to renovate the house was to replace the flooring. We compare prices & quality from
- Lumbermart they have this promotion for Walnut Wood Flooring @ RM7.90/sf without installation (hmmph!!!)
- Innovar Laminated Wood Flooring Basiq with the price of RM5.50/sf incl installation
- Floor Depot with quite a variety of selection for 50% off without installation. The lowest price it can go is RM8 less 50% and installation @ RM1.90.
- Havana Flooring, never heard of them but they offer price like RM3.90/sf Laminated Flooring including installation.
We decided on RV Woods instead, they specialises in 100% Timber Flooring and we put a deposit for the cheapest material of Merbau Wood’s @ RM7.50 including installation but most likely we will upgrade if we didn’t burst our reno budget. *Pray Hard*
RV Woods let us take back the wood sample, so does Feruni Ceramics I got plenty of the small cut out square ceramic which I will use it as coaster wahahahha. I also learn alot on Aluminium Doors, there’s 2 reputable brand : Reliance & Hong Lee but more prefer to Hong Lee, I really learn alot from the exhibition and Hong Lee’s workmanship and material are better compare to Reliance. Good to know!! Price is higher too!! Ah well.. still have to stick to the budget, I wonder how much the home renovation going to cost us, kinda worried too
That’s all for now, did any of you went to Perfect Livin this weekend?
Oh also, if you have any good contractor to recommend me, that would be great!!

Mum you didn’t try hard enough
Posted by blurcheryl in Family & Friends, Home Improvement, The Husband & Wife Daily on February 27, 2012
Its too late.
Now I realize why mummy ask me to study harder.
Its for a brighter future.
Easier life.
Earn Big Bucks .. sort off.
“Mum you should whip me like what those rapist got whipped” So I will use all my energy and brain juice to study and score well in exam. Okay thats a bad example of getting whipped. Imagine if I got whipped like that my mum would be a jailbird for abusing a cute child and I would have scarred buttock not a scar full of cellulite butt.
I blame my Mum, for not trying hard enough (later I call her and tell her that). Should push me ma.. military style
If I study harder, maybe I am a lawyer now. Then I charge people for S&P and Loan document and earn Thousands and Thousands of Ringgit and make an easy living rather than I have to pay them to do it.
Maybe I wont get married or I have hard time finding a man of my standard, must be higher standard and give me luxurious lifestyle. Its hard to find a husband like that when my face is cute but not model like pretty.
So Maybe I would end up lonely. Frankly, I dont think I would end up lonely coz I enjoy being alone. So lonely doesnt fits me. I am a fun person (self praise) so I think I may end up a Cougar.
Lawyer Cougar and have Toy boyfriend and not afraid to get sued coz I know law very well.
Okay its sucks now that we have to use substancial amount of money we save so HARD to pay for Lawyer fees for our house.
Damn!

Holy Moly We bought A Postcode

Do you know that property prices of homes in KL and Penang are crazy high compare to other states in Malaysia? It has been a challenging year in 2011 when we started shopping for a home, a landed property. In 2011 property market was so bullish that finding a home for us was no easy task. Every month there are new launches, be it in Subang, KL, Kuchai area, Damansara, Sungai Buloh, Kota Damansara, Sri Damansara you name it.
Just in Kuchai area there must be 3-4 launches last year alone. New Property launches in KL are mostly of highrise residential. There is hardly anymore land for them to be selling terrace houses and neither would they wanted to- as highrise building reaked the most profit for a smaller piece of land for them ( I presume ). The way I sees it, Developers are selling more Studio/ SOHO units, or mixed development of commercial and residential which I hated the most.
There are some Developers selling luxury highend condo / residence with a floorplan of 1,400sq ft or bigger with MYR800,ooo – 1 Million price tag. I for sure cannot afford anything with a 7 digit price tag, if you are one of them lucky you, for earning high salary!!! Too bad I am not, nor will I be spending my 7 digit $$ on condo with Strata Title, leasehold or freehold.
Looking at the hefty price tag we resorted to shopping for landed property homes only, that is what we always wanted anyway hehe. It must be a freehold also. We wanted Landed property because:
- The land with title belongs to us when we paid off the bank.
- We dont have to pay monthly maintenance to the condo management which saves us MYR300-500 a month
- We have our own parking!
- Cheap Cukai
- Cheaper water bill and electricity
- Space of a double storey, more privacy
We started looking for homes in Subang area as it will be nearer to my mum’s place and most of the residential has either fully or partially guarded. We went for house hunting almost every weekend going back and forth from PJ to Subang and I am amazed at how determine I am when I wanted a house so badly. I searched in iproperty.com and mudah.com daily, check the newspaper for good deals. We started looking for homes with the price of MYR400K initially.
Seriously! You can’t get a decent home with MYR400K budget. Its of smaller size of 20 X 60, in areas like USJ 1, 2, 3, 4. We increase our budget of finding houses within MYR500-550K an MYR 100K increase. Damn it!! Then we almost bought a house 20X 100 with another 8 feet of land on the backyard in SS19 but eventually after taking into consideration of future sale of the property, market value and the main downpart was that the house is very near to the sewerage plant, we drop the idea of getting into the deal. Also Thanks to Jynn, Jynn’s mum and my mummy’s strong protest and much deliberation, we did not regret the decision after all.
The house hunting continues and we went as far as Kota Kemuning to look for our dream home. We only went to see houses in Indah Residences 2, which is really nice about 2,200sq ft full build up and nicely done, fully guarded and very modern design. We can’t bring ourself to buy the house eventhough it is truly beautiful because of its location. Looking into the location of the new township we need to travel daily about 30 KMs per way to our workplace, the number of tolls we need to pass and the hours stuck in the traffic not forgetting the dangerous route whereby many commercial vehicle using the same road to the Port Klang, I was taken aback. Yes, the house is very nice, but the inconvenience and the danger on the road I never wanted to trade for that kind of situation everyday. Besides its very inconvenient for my parents to come visit and its super inconvenient for me to go Shopping. I love Shopping, I’ll be deprived of going to malls as often as I wanted to go. Its so freaking far!! Bye Bye Kota Kemuning. Maybe I’ll buy one of these houses when the infrastructure/ accessibility as improved, given I can still afford it.
Back to houses in Subang area, we look at houses USJ11, USJ 13, USJ 17, USJ 18, USJ 5. We like the houses in USJ 17 or 18 the most as the neighbourhood is more pleasing to the eyes and the layout is better. SS17 neighbourhood offers a more serene environment but it is not guarded, so sad. Anyway its hard to get a decent house even with a budget of less than MYR600K. Thats depressing. Some good deals are very quick snatch up by many other buyers, its also very frustrating. The minute you call them, the agents says its available, by the time we went to see its sold. Come on!! These buyers doesn’t need to think? Get bank loans? Do they print money? Properties Agent told me they dont have enough houses to sell in Subang Jaya. WTF!!
Then in November 2011, we started talking deals with a Malay agent, almost sealed the deal of getting a house in USJ 11, partially guarded 22X70 if I remember correctly. We asked for a CF for the house extension but the owner was not able to provide it, further negotiation of more discount failed and the deal is off and we flew to New Zealand.
When we came back after the long holiday I started to look for house again and its almost like fated. I seldom look for houses in this PJ area as some are very very old, leasehold land and some townships, they dont even have a house for sale. Then one fine day, I saw an ads in TheStar newspaper and I quickly called up the agent for viewing during weekends. We saw the house on Saturday and went to see several house more in Subang and we got into deal on Sunday itself. Come On!! We dont print money!! & We put the deposit for the house just like that. 2% of the house selling price!
I couldn’t believe it!!
The moment we handled the cheque to the agent, the minute I signed the Letter of Offer my heart pounds so hard and fast that I almost wanted to faint.
I couldn’t believe!! (OCD, repeatedly said)
Reality kicks in!!
We got a landed property!
We paid higher for the POSTCODE!
& the most exciting part was WE ARE HEAVILY IN DEBT NOW.
WTF!! duduk biasa saja, apa main beli property?

So close to Nature
Posted by blurcheryl in Cuti Cuti Malaysia, Home Improvement on July 4, 2011
Came home after work one evening and I heard very loud whoosh flapping sound on the lamp post. As I look up I saw this hornbill and quickly start to snap pictures of it.
I didn’t manage to get nice shots as its already at dusk and with low lights using my iPhone 4 its the closest I can get. Already zoom to the maximum!
I am not surprise that I can see this Oriental Pied Hornbill at my apartment because our place is just next to the park. Sometimes I even saw Copper Smith Barbets, Spotted Dove, Peaceful, Orange Breasted Flycatcher, Sparrow, Brown Throated Sunbird which I love to watch because they are so beautiful with vibrant colours, and many more.
It is always a delight whenever I see birds flying past our window, and I am more than happy if they build a nest on my roof (that is another reason why I hate those stray cats at my apartment – they kill birds and eat them). Somemore chinese saying if you have a bird nest at home, its a sign of prosperity! haha
I still remember when I first stay in this aparment and waking up in the morning listening to birds churping away, the first thing I thought is ‘what a nice place to stay here’ and until today I still feel the same. So Close to Nature!
TweetNew Addition: Blender
Posted by blurcheryl in Home Improvement, Shopping Bag Explode on June 10, 2011
This is the latest addition to my kitchen appliances. Have been eyeing one for a couple of months, at first thought of getting a cheap one then after a few store hopping started to think of getting better ones that you can make smoothies with it.
Then before I decide to make the purchase, I asked myself. How many times will I make my own smoothies? I cannot come out with an answer because I knew I wont make smoothies at home. Smoothies is not in my favourite drink list, and I can say I dont fancy Smoothies. So why should I spend RM400+ to get a blender that can make good smoothies I wondered.
At last I chose this blender that cost me RM75 only and I can make ….. guess what?
Home made Mask!
And how many times I made a Mask?
ONCE!!!
The price of my mask? Cucumber + bittergourd blend = RM75 + RM5=RM80 a jar!
[ Yeobo!! Please shut up!]
