Off late – a short update

Hi.. sorry for the absence. This has became a norm when I start writing a post with appologies, can’t help it! There was no internet at home except using the portable ones and hubby needed the internet more than I do, so writing at home is almost impossible. For the past few weeks we planned to sign up for internet package but there’s no way to manage our time at all going to the store to enquire  or register.

No, the housewarming has not happened. We dont plan to have one either. Some of our closer friends came, my family came and we told them its just a get together. That way everyone does not need to fuss about getting us anything or do I have any wish list as I think its too much to ask. Still, I feel thankful for those who give a thought to what I might  need, without realising I do need it. haha

Sometimes I wish to just leave home and go for a short getaway from home, a beach somewhere but I have more important things to do. Did I mention, it took us 2 months to finally able to stick to our plans - driving to Sg Buloh to get the plants and soil?

Here’s a pic of the living area, still very messy as I haven’t got time to put them away.

What Hubby doing there?

He’s using the sticky roller to stick my hair off  the floor

Home decor with Coronet Super 12

The sudden popularity of vintage items receives a whole new meaning in home decor these days and that influence the decor item I have at home.

Born in the 70′s the Coronet Super 12 portable electric typewriter in blue.

This baby was a gift from my ex-japanese boss, Mr. Toshitake Fujii from JFE Steel Corporation 5 years ago. The typewriter was his beloved possession and sat in the office for over 10 years until the company moved to its regional location in Singapore in 2008. Since then I kept this baby in a box and told myself, one day I will display it in my own house.

Now this typewriter sits in our living room and ready to meet our guests (after hours of cleaning hehe)

Zip is the solution to clean this baby and cotton buds!

Tadah!! My Precious !!!!!

Home decorating with Books

Have you thought of showcasing your books without any cost but just by stacking and arranging them like a tower? Short tower, or tall ones or even a few book stacks on the coffee table?

As much as I’d like to have beautiful built in cabinets, I don’t have enough books to display. My literature materials are limited and I gave away magazines after reading them except Good Food and other travel mags.

After moving to the house, I notice that I dont even have any tall bookshelfs and I’ve repurpose the short book shelfs used to be in my bedroom to keep teas and jam supplies in the kitchen.  I left a few piles of books and mag on the rug in the living room, scattered after me flipping and finding books to read. The living area turn out to be a messy nook until I embrace the piles of books by stacking them and incorporate it into home decor instead.

What do you think of the arrangement?

Its a corner of  visual interest for now at home.

How to Get Rid of House Lizards

See, when I move in to the my new home I was greeted by Centipede when doing the cleaning. Then Mr cockcroach died mysteriously and Hubby flushed it down the toilet. Soon after, we discover Lizard family has chosen my sweet home as their nomadic settlement.

I have not seen any Lizard poo around the house, not yet, not on the wall like what happened in 2010 when I exterminate these disgusting creatures that drives me to nuts for staining the wall. I dug up my previous blogpost lizard-terminator  if you couldn’t remember what happened at that time.  [couldn't find my post in DOt.com, so please read it in WordPress]

When I read the post again I can’t help but laughing at myself. I swore I’m a changed person now, the killer instinct has long gone. Having said that, all I have left are just imagination of sorts which I shall not go further describing them. Always felt good after hmmph imagine banging people with my 4 roda

Oh well, I am posting another tips I learn from a friend a couple of weeks back and thought good things must be shared right? Here’s how to get rid of house lizards effectively and harmlessly. Cost? 50cents for an Egg.

STEP 1

Cook and Eat the Eggs any way you like it.

STEP 2

Keep the Egg Shells

STEP 3

Wash the Egg Shells

STEP 4

Dry the Egg Shells

STEP 5

Put the Egg shells at different corner of the house, hidden if you like

DONE!

Change the Egg Shells when you see lizards coming back

Try this and  tell me if it works at your home too!?

Be a voter!

Hi everybody!! Miss me?  I have no idea why my time management is so bad lately and I am so terribly lazy to lift my fingers to type anything nowadays. I know you all have been waiting for me and dissapointed every time when nothing new came up from my page! I appologize for that and I will try real hard to post more often.

Lately besides ignoring my blog, I  have been ignoring the newspaper as well as every freaking page printed was about the Election and getting SMS from BN on their promise just pisses me off more than ever! Save your money BN and donate them to the charity you idiots!

If BN wants to proof to the people of our Nation that they are in fact capable and a responsible, a fair party. They should Stop doing what they are doing now. Not letting DAP use their Logo for the most stupid reason? Will the votes go to BN?

NO!

It WONT!

Because the RAKYAT recognized BN’s party logo! WTF!!

I received a SMS yesterday. AKUJANJI BN. Bantuan Sara hidup bulanan RM250 kepada ibu tunggal, warga emas, OKU serta rakyat miskin yang layak. Undilah BN. What a great promises! giving out money and there you go, settled. Pergi main jauh-jauh. Short term promises that doesn’t improve the standard of living.

Why our rakyat miskin? How come? Why our RAKYAT miskin? I got to tell you, all of us are so dumb! We dont know how to save money lor!  The  famous 1  lady of our country, the one who wears RM24 Million Diamond ring. She’s the genius. She can save so much money since young and afford such a luxury. Maybe our current government implying to each and everyone of us that we spend too much money that’s why we’re poor and cannot afford the most basic for the living.  Are we living in  dreamland or they are telling unbelievable stories to us that not even any movie maker will believe such a fiction and make a movie out of it?

The last Election tsunami, BN have not learn a lesson? Any improvement on our security? It got worst doesn’t it? The place we live, housing areas mostly have to resort to pay extra for security guards to round the neighbourhood? Developers selling the new housing areas, offering security guards and guarded housing. Why? Is our country safe? Can anyone say proudly that our country is safe? I myself have been robbed in broad daylight twice and feared walking to anywhere these days. Even a short distance I will take the car.  We can never walk on the streets alone, not even day time without getting robbed and stabbed. Frankly,  I hate the security of our country now. I can never feel secured. Do you? Don’t bullshit me with the politician controlled media that the number of robbery/theft has decreased. We know what’s going on and not the politician because they have a dozen of bodyguards protecting them.

Have you not heard of the phrase  “if BN got voted and back in power they will do this and that”. Oh yeah? Back in power? Wait a minute? Aren’t you in power already?  Doesn’t that implied that BN hasn’t done enough? BN  knew what is wrong and haven’t done enough to improve it right? So BN asking us to gamble another 5 years to see what they should have already done in the past 5 years, 10 years, 15, 20 years ago? OR we listen to all the promises, get dissapointed, cry foul, listen and watch all injustice and for the next 5 years live with all the lies again and again.

How about You watch them patch the road now then for the next 5 years patch it again when the election comes? What say you?

Or Vote for the opposition let the opposition do the job and have BN the expert to keep an eye on them. WIN WIN.

What say you?

Enough is Enough. BN has lied to our RAKYAT long enough and UBAH we will. UBAH is the only way. UBAH is the right thing to do. BN have to UBAH as well to win the people’s heart. Show it to us, the People, your RAKYAT that you can WIN the election fairly and the Party has changed and show it to us, NOW. The RAKYAT feel intimidated by every activities that BN does, Did BN UBAH? Unfortunately NOT for the better but getting Dirtier and Nastier

Speaking of which, the election campaigns make me sick!!! Especially when recently while I was driving, I saw many motorbikers carrying the BN flags and ride the motorbike like mad on the streets, on the highway and what impression does that gives to us? BN associated with Mat Rempit! That’s it! Encouraging Mat Rempit to create fear among the people, endangered our lifes  on the road, harrassing other road users. BN and Mat Rempit seems to have quite a friendly relationship though.

Our Hindu friends, the Indian community, do you have anymore grounds to stand now that even the independent lawmaker Perkasa vice-president Datuk Zulkifli Noordin ignores Section 298A,” referring to Section 298A of the Penal Code that prohibits actions that cause disharmony, feelings of  hatred and INSULTED your Hinduism?

A religious video delivered by him has been uploaded on YouTube. Zulkifli was recorded saying “I have been to Sungai Ganga before. How can you say it’s pure? There are chicken carcasses and small sticks floating,”

Did anything happen to him after delivering his speech? No! He walks a free man and laugh at the stupidity of our system, our people, our religion.

So, my dear friends. Think for your future. Think for your next generation. This for the prosperities and safety of our life, our Country. Think and act now. This is the time, 5 years is a long wait don’t miss the chance!

VOTE for your future!

Or you rather the ’New Citizens’ vote for your future? Or you have settled & accepted the fate that we are in fact the unwelcomed Pendatang, or the ungrateful citizens, the non contributor to the country’s economic, the prostitute bunch?

VOTE!! UBAH!

Actually hor, I am suppose to write about the kleengard waste disposal I have at home but got carried away. I am using  kleengard SD500 I am happy to have this convenience at home! HAHAHHAHAHA

No need throw rubbish.

Square coins!

Have you seen square coins before? Are you a coin collector? 2 years ago my sister showed me these coins, used to belong to her MIL but she has passed away few years ago before my sis even got married. Sister got plenty of it and I asked her to give me a few to keep.  I like little treasures like this and was so excited when my sister agreed  and gave them to me.

I kept them in small oriental pouch a gift from my sister too when she go to Melaka for holiday many years ago. Recently while doing house keeping, I found them nicely kept in one of the drawers and I have totally forgotten about them.  The coins are really dirty so I wash it with vinegar before taking these photos.

As you can see the 1 cent coin inscription, MALAYA and BRITISH BORNEO coin in 1957 and on its reverse side is QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND.

Coin in the year of 1956 too.

QUEEN ELIZABETH THE SECOND

2 more similarly square coins, KING GEORGE VI and KING GEORGE V AND EMPEROR OF INDIA

(sorry for the short post)

SNEAK PEAK LIVING ROOM

Happy Wednesday everyone! Here’s another peek at the living room. We had a 6 ft wide brick wall in the middle of the house, one to seperate the Living and another to the entrance. The side where I put the  magenta stool will be where we put the TV which we dont have yet. Waiting for Jusco sales, anyone have any idea when? and which outlet let me know please?

The other side at the back of the wall, will be the first furniture we see when we enter the house, also have yet to decide what kind of furniture to put there. I am quite paranoid on the possibility to drill the wall as there’s wiring there and I have an idea to put a book shelf or console table. We’ll know what once we found the right furniture and something we like. No hurry at all.

Our niece JessMinn commented she doesn’t like to step on carpet so we got this low pile Rug from IKEA and love it. Like the RETRO look a lot.
