Hmm… I love flowers, fresh flowers, gardens greeneries and its all here at Whittington. Do you know how much time, effort and care you need to have such beautiful blooms everywhere? It is seriously hard to maintain and extremely impossible there’ll be any easy way to keep them alive and healthy!
At least to me!
If you are not aware, I am a plant killer like what I mentioned in my post: Accidental Serial Killer. I even made Resolutions: Do not Kill the Plant and on good times I have cacat flower mysunflower, I blame it on bad seeds.
Lets check out the flowers at Whittington. They are beautiful and I miss my niece Aurora! and my other 3 nieces tooTweet
My sister told me that the caretaker of Whittington Bungalow is a very good cook and he has serve the Angmo before. He has become a great caretaker and has done an excellent job. Because of his fame and the idea of staying in one of the colonial bungalow, we quickly made a trip to Fraser Hill before he retires. True enough, during our stay there we actually told the caretaker Mr. Lim Jeow Fong that we’ll come back next year and really hope to see him again.
Mr. Lim told us, he and his wife will be retiring this coming July 2010! (Oh no… oh no.. why retire so soon?) My heart quickly sunk but its really selfish to ask him to continue serving and taking care of Whittington after 40+ years with the same role and he is already 70+ years old. I wonder will he be in tears when he bid goodbyes to Whittington. Mr Lim and his wife will move to Subang Jaya to be reunited with their four children.
Some of the pictures to share.. of the food prepared by Mr. Lim.
This is the dining hall.
Our Lunch on Saturday, home cook chinese food. The vegetables are actually grown at the garden by the caretaker’s auntie. Unbelievably very nice leh the food, no MSG! Tea Time at 4pm, the curry puff bake by Mr. Lim.. my heart actually melted. Very very tasty and the tea!! OMG the Tea.. how can he brew the tea till so fragrant?
For dinner, pay attention.. see how he placed the cutleries.. this is the formal dinner cutleries arrangement and the Tomato soup is so delicious!!!… I actually wanted to ask for more.. but too shy to ask and now I regretted.
The bun, freshly baked, so crunchy and yummy and .. and and.. I’m I’m I’m.. I cannot describe how awesome it is. See the sauce there? Its homemade tartar sauce! Main course I had Chicken Chop! Heavenly taste.. Super Super Triple Super Nice!
Dessert Chocolate Pudding.. Can you see the smoke? Freshly baked, not too sweet, Dunno how to describe it.
Fried meehoon also damn nice!
Message to Mr & Mrs. Lim (If you happen to stumbled upon my blog or if your children saw this, pls pass the message)

The Interior of Whittington.
First of all, look at the vintage key hole! In a way I do appreciate that they did not replace the door knob or the door with the modern ones. Its a priceless originality that the soft fixtures in this bungalow were such a delight to look on.An old directory, namely The Straits Times Directory of Malaysia and Singapore. See that F&N Logo there? The Directory a version published in year 1966, a 45 years old Directory this year!! Many old paintings adorning the wall in Whittington. Look at the first painting, it looks like there was a row of horse stables in the bungalow compound. There’s also a real antique fireplace at the family room area! Lets compare the painting with the photos I took! Can you spot the differences? Wash your eyes with beautiful Chandelier lighting throughout Whittington. The first pic, there’s this telephone room below the stairs. How often you hear or see a telephone room? Privacy is assured. They have huge living area, the sofas are very well maintained (no musty mushy smell.) Family Entertainment room with Astro channels to watch! Even Game Room is available in Whittington. Can play card or mahjong perhaps. There’s 5 rooms downstairs, and every room look very similar and has its own private bathroom with bathtub, clean towels and new ‘May’ brand soap is provided. Truly like a hotel hospitality! Upstair Living Hall with Astro too! There’s 6 suite rooms available. Psst.. tell you a secret!! Whittington is not haunted!! At least I think it is not, and I dont have those spooky feelings when I enter the room, and I do sleep pretty well. Truly the most relaxing holiday homes I stayed thus far. Now who doesn’t want to stay here? We enjoyed our stay here so much that I am sure I’ll be back soon! Tweet

I posted a lot of photos here and I couldn’t help it and would really love to share my awesome experience staying in Whittington bungalow.
The moment I saw this Colonial Building, I’m in ecstasy already as I couldn’t believe I get the chance to stay here! Thanks to my sister arrangement, only Sime Darby Group employees able to book this charming bungalow which is surrounded by lush beautiful garden with blooming flowers of many kind. I felt instantly on other side of the world, almost feel like I’m staying in one of the English Countryside.
Lets start the tour of the Beautiful Whittington Bungalow.
The sign is very clearly placed at the gate entrance to the Whittington, a property of Sime Darby.
The magnificent exterior of the Whittington Bungalow. It is surrounded by lushful green and flower gardens and you’d know how much effort and sweat that the caretaker took care of the building. I definitely know, its not easy to keep a plant alive, let alone flowers blooming everywhere? Its really a lot of hard work!!The main door The back garden with the swing. When everybody was watching Astro in the Entertainment room, I actually sat here and listen to my fav songs from my Ipod shuffle while reading a book, enjoying the peacefulness and cool breeze. Heaven! Tweet
